The AI85 ice cream vending robot: soft-serve capability and key figures

The AI85 ice cream vending robot prepares every portion in view: the robotic arm takes the cup, fills it with soft-serve and hands it over. Manufacturer-stated: approx. 80 portions per fill, approx. 30–40 seconds per portion, approx. 1.02 m² footprint. Scrolling lets the milk carry the robot in one calm rising movement; scrolling up plays the same movement exactly in reverse.

Chapter 04 · The numbers

The soft serve vending machine in numbers

The AI85 is a robotic soft-serve ice cream vending machine – an ice cream robot that prepares every portion in view. Ordering, payment, production and pickup run unstaffed in one cabinet. Every essential figure at a glance — capacity, speed, dimensions, power and care. These are approximate values from the available manufacturer documentation; actual performance depends on siting, recipe and configuration.

How the soft serve vending machine works, step by step

  1. Choose — compose soft serve with syrup and topping on the touchscreen.
  2. Pay — with coins or banknotes, directly at the machine; card payment can be retrofitted.
  3. Production — the robot inside portions, garnishes and finishes the cup.
  4. Pickup — the hatch opens and the finished cup is ready.

Chapter 05 · Ordering

Order soft serve: choose flavour and topping

Now it is your turn: on this page's order display you choose syrup and topping and start the preparation — the same three steps the real machine walks through on its screen. The production film begins only after your order.

Chapter 03 · Payment

Payment at the machine

The ice cream vending machine accepts coins and banknotes through visibly installed modules; for a card terminal, the board and wiring are prepared, and the operator chooses and fits the reader (owner-stated). The three stations on this page show the payment exactly as your customers can experience it: insert, feed, tap.

Animated film: the robot inside the machine makes a portion of soft serve and hands it over

One continuous animated film with no cuts. At night the light ring around the small pickup hatch comes on. The camera flies in through the hatch. Inside, a small white-and-magenta robot takes a cup from the stack, holds it under the dispenser until a low wide soft-serve swirl has built up, turns to the topping station where rainbow sprinkles fall onto it, and on to the syrup, which lands as a thin red thread on the peak. The robot pauses and looks at what it has made. The camera flies back out, the glass door slides up, the cup travels down the ribbed chute to the front, and the ring blinks magenta. A hand takes the cup, tilts it, frees the wooden spoon from the paper sleeve taped underneath, and lifts out the first scoop.

OPERATION & CARE

Transparent planning. Practical access.

Cup storage, ingredient access and cleaning are visible parts of operation. Two cup tubes of approximately 50 cups each and approximately 8 litres of mix yield around 80 portions per fill, manufacturer-stated.

ENGINEERING & DIMENSIONS

Robotics within roughly one square metre.

The enclosure combines robotics, cooling, ingredient modules, cup dispensing and payment technology in a compact industrial architecture with visible stainless-steel components.

FAQ

Ice cream vending machine FAQ

The key answers for operators and location partners — from weight, power and siting through containers, ingredients and cups to cleaning, payment and warranty. Anything missing here we answer directly: the contact section is one scroll away.

What makes it different from a soft serve machine?

A soft serve machine is a counter unit operated by staff. This is a complete automated ice cream vending machine: ordering, payment, robotic production and pickup all happen in one cabinet, unstaffed.

Is the machine new?

Factory-new, unused and in its original packaging (owner-stated). A complete function test was recorded at the factory before shipping.

How much does the machine weigh, and how large is it when packed?

The machine weighs approx. 220 kg and stands on castors (visible on the unit). Packed, it measures approx. 900 × 1,420 × 1,940 mm with a shipping weight of approx. 385 kg (manufacturer-stated). Delivery, siting and commissioning are not included in the price.

What temperature and humidity does the site need?

For operation the manufacturer specifies 10–38 °C, for storage 5–30 °C, each at below 80% relative humidity (manufacturer-stated). The site should stay within these values all year round — including during idle periods. Ventilation grilles are set into both side panels (visible on the unit).

What electrical supply does the machine require, and does it need water?

The machine is designed for AC 220 V, 50 Hz, with a maximum power consumption of approx. 3,000 W (manufacturer-stated); site electrics should be checked by a professional first. It needs no water connection — there is neither an inlet nor a drain (owner-stated): the soft serve mix is poured as a liquid into the approx. 8 l mix hopper, and for cleaning the parts are removed and washed in water.

How much do the containers hold, and how much does one portion use?

The machine has one mix hopper of approx. 8 l, two topping containers (dry) of approx. 200 g each and three sauce containers of approx. 800 ml each. One portion uses approx. 100 g of mix, 10 g of topping and 20 g of sauce; a full mix hopper thus yields around 80 portions (manufacturer-stated). Actual yield depends on portion size and recipe.

Which cups fit the machine?

The machine takes paper cups with a top diameter of approx. 85 mm, a bottom diameter of 70 mm and a height of 50 mm; two cup tubes hold approx. 50 cups each (manufacturer-stated). The sale also includes approx. 7,000 matching cups with attached spoons (owner-stated).

Where do the soft serve mix, toppings and sauces come from?

The operator sources soft serve mix, toppings and sauces independently from local retailers; the manufacturer recommends a liquid soft serve mix that is poured directly into the approx. 8 l mix hopper (manufacturer-stated). The manufacturer's documentation does not mention any tie to particular brands or suppliers.

How often and how does the machine need to be cleaned?

Manufacturer intervals: drain remaining ice cream and clean every 3 days, topping and sauce containers every 7 days, deeper maintenance every 15 days. For this, the parts are removed and washed in water, the seals coated with food-grade grease, and everything refitted (owner-stated). Between cleanings, UV light inside the machine has a germ-reducing effect (manufacturer-stated). The intervals do not replace your own hygiene plan; the operator remains responsible.

Can I view sales figures and change prices remotely?

Yes — according to the manufacturer, the machine has a web backend: after logging in, sales data can be viewed in real time and selling prices changed (manufacturer-stated). The manufacturer's documentation does not mention any further remote functions.

Which coins and notes does the machine accept?

Coin and banknote modules are visibly installed. According to the labelling on the unit, 50-cent, 1-euro and 2-euro coins as well as 5- and 10-euro notes are accepted; the machine does not give change (notice on the unit: “No give change function”). Selling prices should therefore be payable in exact amounts.

Can customers pay by card, and where does the revenue go?

The board and wiring for a card terminal (MDB) are present; the reader itself is not fitted (owner-stated). The operator chooses provider, device and mounting location themselves and enters into the contract directly with a payment service provider; that provider charges fees that vary by region and credits the revenue to the account on file — the seller is not involved in the flow of money (manufacturer-stated).

Is there a warranty?

Yes — the seller grants a one-year warranty on the machine: within that year, any replacement parts needed are sent free of charge; after that year, they are charged for. The warranty applies in addition to the statutory warranty rights, which remain unaffected.

What does the machine cost?

10.500 € – Total price. No value-added tax is shown, in accordance with § 19 UStG (German small-business rule). Delivery, siting and commissioning are not included.

The small white-and-magenta AI85 robot holding a cup of soft serve

To close, the small white-and-magenta robot appears once more — exactly where it opened the page. It waves goodbye with one hand, then takes the cup back into both hands. As you keep scrolling it slowly fades until only its eyes remain and close — just as at the very beginning. The story starts over: the end of the site is its beginning.
